How We Can Support You

Cobalt Abortion Fund can reduce the financial burden of accessing abortion care. We can help with funding for your abortion appointment and with funding for travel to access abortion care. If you are in need of funding for abortion care, please schedule an appointment with one of the clinics we partner with. After scheduling an appointment, please fill out the funding intake form by clicking “I Need Support.”

Abortion Care Funding

Cobalt Abortion Fund provides direct procedure funding for appointments with clinics we partner with.

Telehealth Funding

We partner with several telehealth providers. Telehealth abortion care is convenient and safe, and if going to an in-person appointment is a barrier, telehealth care may be a good option for you.

Travel & Transportation

We provide gas reimbursement on a case-by-case basis to support you with travel costs. Cobalt Abortion Fund can also book flights up front for travel for your abortion care. If commercial flights aren’t a good option, we can work with you to find better options.

Lodging

We provide hotel and other lodging accommodations, depending on your needs and availability. We work with a third-party booking service and offer options if you have safety concerns about bookings made in your name or if you are under 21.

Meal Support & Grocery Assistance

We can provide funding for food and groceries while you travel, on a case-by-case basis.

Childcare

Cobalt Abortion Fund can provide reimbursement for childcare on a case-by-case basis.

Other Necessities

We can support with funding for additional necessities like pads, underwear, heating pads, or other supplies that might be needed to help make your abortion experience more comfortable.

Resources & More!

We will do our best to connect you with other resources if you need additional help with food, housing, or emotional support. While we only provide direct funding for your travel needs and abortion care, we recognize that people’s lives are complex, and we want to support you as a whole person.

Please do not cancel your appointment or delay your care for financial reasons. Cobalt Abortion Fund can work with other funds throughout our region to help you get as much funding as possible. Take a deep breath, we can figure it out together.

Hours of Operation + Response Time

Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm.
We are usually open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Mountain Time. We close for most federal holidays, and occasionally additional breaks, and will close our intake form and let current clients know about our closures.

Response times happen within our working hours.
We typically respond within 48 business hours of when you submit your application. We appreciate your patience. Your right to access abortion care is our priority.

Do I need an appointment scheduled before reaching out to Cobalt Abortion Fund for funding? Toggle Accordion
It is usually easier and preferred if you have an appointment scheduled before submitting an application for funding with Cobalt Abortion Fund. However, it is not a requirement, and if you have questions about where to schedule your appointment or need help making a care plan, our intake team is happy to help refer you to one of the clinics we can provide funding at. We are not able to support you with funding until you have an appointment scheduled or have decided to get care through one of the telehealth providers we partner with, since we work directly with the clinic for procedure funding.
Do I need to be a Colorado resident to get funding with Cobalt Abortion Fund? Toggle Accordion
While Cobalt Abortion Fund is a Colorado-based fund, we can support folks who live outside of Colorado. Supporting abortion seekers traveling from out of state to access abortion care with our partner clinics is a core part of our work and mission. Our funding is intended to break down barriers for people needing abortion care, which means we will sometimes redirect folks to care options that are closer, logistically easier, or have more funding available for their specific needs.
How much funding will I receive from Cobalt Abortion Fund? Toggle Accordion
It depends on how much funding you need! If we are not able to support all of your funding needs, we will refer you to other funds, with your consent, and help you coordinate other funding sources. We understand that the cost of abortion care can be stressful. We are here to help. Please do not cancel your appointment or delay your care for financial reasons.
