COBALT STATEMENT ON THE COLORADO ATTORNEY GENERAL’S RACE

Denver –  Cobalt President Karen Middleton today issued the following statement on the Colorado Attorney General’s race:

“Cobalt endorsed Attorney General Phil Weiser early because he has been a strong, committed champion for abortion access and reproductive rights. As a former clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, he has carried forward her legacy on backing the Constitutional right to abortion in Colorado.

John Kellner, a largely untested candidate with just one year as a DA, represents a threat to abortion rights at time when Roe v. Wade hangs in the balance. Coloradans simply cannot trust Kellner to stand up for their rights if Roe is gutted or overturned in the next few months. The last Republican AG candidate, George Brauchler, said Republicans need to clearly declare their position on abortion rights. We have heard none of that from Kellner.

We know who Phil Weiser is and where he stands, and it is with our Colorado values on abortion rights. We’re with Phil.”
